Irrespective of TransQuery, I think this would be a worthy effort. It could
definitely fall under the "related resources" domain of TransQuery as
opposed to part of the TC deliverable. The caveat, of course, is that the
translator would need to change whenever the XQuery Working Draft changes.
Also, it is an open question in my mind whether XSLT's template rules can be
fully simuluated using XQuery functions. I'm pretty sure it's possible, but
I haven't worked through it yet.
